In an attempt to play the fictional superhero ‘Shaktimaan’, three youths locked themselves in jail in Noida on Saturday. He participated in and shot a bike stunt in the city, a video of which went viral on social media. The three residents of Ghaziabad, in their early 20s, were caught performing dangerous stunts at Noida’s Sector 63 police station, following which a video of their act went viral on social media.
Sharing the video on its Twitter handle, Gautam Buddh Nagar Police wrote, “Vikas, a youth doing dangerous stunts on a bike and his 02 companions (Gaurav, Suraj) who made the video were arrested by the police station Sector-63. Noida and the bike used in the stunt has been confiscated.” The video was shared on social media with background sound from the popular 90s TV show ‘Shaktimaan’.
Police said the episode is the latest in a series of incidents involving young men and women performing stunts on two-wheelers and cars, violating traffic laws and endangering their own as well as the lives of others. Police said the three youths wanted to become ‘famous’ by promoting the video on social media.
“Keeping in view the incident, the Sector 63 police station officials on Saturday arrested the accused along with his accomplices, who made a video of the motorcycle stunt and posted it on social media. All the three motorcycles used in the incident have also been confiscated.
“The accused currently resides in Baharampur area adjoining Ghaziabad district. He was kept near SJM Hospital in Noida’s Sector 63,” said the spokesperson.
He said the arrested people have been identified as Vikas, Anil and Mehak and they have been booked for creating nuisance on the streets.
