Noida Airport: Farmers want more and more land owners to attend government camps. Noida News – Times of India

Greater Noida: A large number of farmers from six Jewar villages, which will be affected by the second phase of the Noida International Airport project, are expected to attend camps to be organized by the district administration from January 7 next year.
To finalize their next strategy, farmers had recently approached advocates and experts and were informed that under the provisions of land acquisition act, 2013, the administration considers that a land owner who does not visit such camps – where consent is noted – is in favor of the project.
Advocate Saurabh Yadav told TOI that under the Act it is assumed that anyone who wants to register his protest will make extra effort to visit the camp and mention his objection or objection in writing. “The person protesting will have to personally file his objection before the administration or the acquiring agency, otherwise it is presumed that he is ready to give up the land,” Yadav said.
Farmers have now taken the initiative to create awareness about the provisions of the Act among land owners, urging them to visit the camps and submit their protest letters in writing to oppose the project.
A group of villagers also held a panchayat on Sunday ranhera and decided against giving their consent to acquire land for the second phase of the airport project until the government meets all their demands. The farmers said that the social impact assessment (HappenMany of their demands have not been included in the report, which has been approved by the government. Other demands that villagers want to meet include four times compensation at the prevailing circle rate, a roadmap for skill development of children and equal rights for unmarried women in each family.
