India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who will lead Gujarat Titans in the upcoming IPL 2022 season, has said that he is not in the tournament to prove anything and the main focus of the team will be on creating an environment where players can flourish. Can you

Since making his first appearance in the IPL in 2015, Pandya had represented Mumbai Indians in the cash-rich league. However, he was not retained by Mumbai before the mega auction.

The star all-rounder was picked up by the Titans via draft and was made the captain of the Gujarat-based franchise.

“I was just spending time with my family, working hard as always. (I) am making sure I prepare well. I am very happy with the team. This is a new team and to be honest, we are not here to prove anything to anyone. We have come here to play good cricket. We are here to ensure that the environment is right for the players to flourish in their potential,” Pandya said in a snippet posted by the Indian Premier League’s official Twitter account on Friday.

“There’s no such expectation. We’re going to be a team that makes sure it keeps improving.”

Gujarat Titans will start their IPL 2022 campaign with a clash against fellow tournament Lucknow Super Giants led by KL Rahul at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 28.

The team is currently training at its home ground Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
