No plan to reduce toll fee on national highways: Nitin Gadkari | India News – Times of India

PUDUCHERRY: The Union road transport and highways ministry has no plan to review nor reduce the toll fee on national highways that were laid more than a decade ago.
Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Jairam Gadkari made an announcement in this regard while furnishing a written reply to a query posed by Puducherry MP V Vaithilingam in the Lok Sabha,
Gadkari said the toll collection, which was Rs 25,092.38 crore in 2018-19, increased to Rs 27,636.05 crore in 2019-20 and further increased to Rs 28,499.12 crore in 2020-21.
He said 12 toll plazas were under litigation for remittance of user fees for public-funded projects. “Approximately Rs 75 crore is involved therein,” he said.
