After almost two years, all types of corona restrictions in Maharashtra are being abolished from April 2 i.e. Gudi Padwa. This decision was approved in the cabinet meeting on Thursday. Let us inform that for the last few days, not a single corona infected has been found in many cities of the state. After which this decision has been taken by the Uddhav government. However, to a large extent the restrictions had already been lifted. Schools, theatres, malls, restaurants, parks, offices were opened. At the same time, everyday work has also started coming back on track.

Most importantly, processions and rallies have also been allowed on the day of Gudi Padwa. However, citizens have been asked to wear masks, maintain a safe distance and get vaccinated against corona to prevent future outbreaks.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that masks will no longer be mandatory in the state, but people should use it themselves, taking care of their health. He said that the administration has also been directed to issue detailed orders in this regard immediately.

Now what will change in Maharashtra?

  • All corona restrictions will be lifted in Maharashtra from April 2.
  • People will be able to celebrate Gudi Padwa procession, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti and Ramzan with enthusiasm.
  • The requirement of masks and social distancing has been done away with.
  • There will be no limit on attendance in hotels, parks, gyms, cinemas, educational institutions, funerals.
  • There will be no need to show the vaccine certificate while traveling by bus, local and train.
  • Wearing of masks or showing vaccination certificate will not be required in public places, malls, gardens.
  • Restrictions on all religious places in Maharashtra have been lifted.

Free health checkup of 22 lakh employees will be done every year
Announcing the removal of these restrictions, the Health Minister said that about 22 lakh government employees in the age group of 40-50 years would be provided one compulsory health checkup in a year and two checkups for the age group of 50-60 years. An amount up to Rs 5000 will be provided to each employee for this. This will cost the government about Rs 105 crore every year.

Jitendra Awhad asked to celebrate Gudi Padwa vigorously
NCP leader Jitendra Awhad has tweeted about this decision of the state government. He said that after the removal of Section 144, Gudi Padwa festival, Ramzan and Babasaheb Shobha Yatra should be celebrated vigorously. Let us tell you that like other states of the country, now the cases of corona have reduced significantly in Maharashtra too. The cases of infection in the state have been controlled to a great extent. This is the reason why the government was considering removing all the corona rules. Now the government has removed Section 144. The special thing is that now wearing masks has also become optional in the state.

Only one corona patient died in the last 24 hours

Let us inform that Maharashtra has reported 183 new cases of infection in the last 24 hours. At the same time, only 1 patient has died. It is a matter of relief that 219 patients have been cured of corona in a day. There are a total of 902 active cases of corona infection in the state.
