Pakistan News Updates: A no-confidence motion was moved against Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Pakistan National Assembly on Monday.

Opposition parties are confident that they can get the support of 172 members in a House of 342 to topple the government, while the government claims it has the necessary support in the House to thwart the attempt.

Khan, 69, came to power in 2018 with a promise to create a ‘Naya Pakistan’ but miserably failed to address the fundamental problem of keeping commodity prices under control, sailing opposition ships to wage war against his government. Gave it air

Khan’s key aides are looking the other way and as nearly two dozen parliamentarians from PTI have revolted against him, and the powerful establishment is not helping, he is unlikely to get the support of the much-awaited 172 lawmakers.

Khan is heading a coalition government and could be removed if some of the allies decide to switch sides.

He is facing rebellion by nearly two dozen of his lawmakers and allies, who are reluctant to support him.

Both Khan and his minister are trying to give the impression that all was well and that he will emerge victorious from the trial.

The PTI has 155 members in the 342-member National Assembly and needs at least 172 MPs to remain in government.
