Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has slammed the team’s culture for the poor performance of Champions League winner Rafael Varane. The French international, who moved from Real Madrid from 2021, was hoping for a new challenge, but that soon turned into a nightmare.

United have had their worst season in recent times, finishing seventh in the Premier League table. This meant that they could not qualify for the Champions League despite making a team for a billion dollars.
Ferdinand said in a YouTube podcast that it was the club’s culture that caused Wren to settle in England.

“He went from a team – the honors there tell you it was a working team at the top level, with all the players consistently playing to the max – to a complete opposite situation where the team’s efficiency is zero, no confidence, no There’s no guidance and no structure. Where are they going,” the retired centre-back said on his Vibe With Five YouTube channel.

“He went into an exotic landscape where he’s going, ‘I haven’t seen this since youth team football’. To see that world-class operation and culture and standard going to Manchester United on a daily basis is a huge, huge Shift,” he said.

Manchester United had their worst record away from home, losing each time. At the time, United’s coach, Ralph Rangnick, stated that the club needed open heart surgery and not plastic surgery to keep the club afloat.

“He’s probably sitting like a rabbit in the headlights saying ‘Whoa, what is this?’ He’s not the player we expected… He’ll tell you that, he can’t tell you anything else. He’ll be saying ‘I’ve reached levels next year. I need help,'” explained the defender. .

Manchester United are looking to overhaul their squad with the signing of Frankie de Jong from Barcelona and Anthony from Ajax.
