Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani Attended an event in New York and praised India for its rich culture. His foundation was supporting an art exhibit titled “The Tree and the Serpent” at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. During his address, he said that the rich culture of India is attracting people from all over the world.

‘Tree and Serpent: Early Buddhist Art in India, 200 BCE–400 CE’ will be on display at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) from 21 July. This spectacular exhibition, tracing the origins of Buddhist art, was made possible through support from Reliance Industries Limited and Mrs. Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, an Indian philanthropic organization.

Talking about the event, she said, “I come from India, the land of Buddha and it is a great honor for me to support ‘The Tree and the Serpent’ through Reliance Foundation’s partnership with The Met. This historical exhibition traces the origins of early Buddhist art from the 2nd century BC to the 4th century AD, featuring over 125 objects from ancient India. With ‘The Tree and the Serpent’, we take great pride in showcasing the deep connection between Buddhism and India.”

A special preview of The Tree and the Serpent was attended by Mrs. Nita Ambani and hosted by The Met’s French Director Marina Kellen Max Hollen, attended by dignitaries from the world of art and beyond, including the Indian Ambassador to the United States Were.
