Nikitin Dheer has received praise for portraying the demon king, Ravan on Shrimad Ramayan.

Nikitin Dheer’s latest tattoo has got everyone talking. The actor, who is currently essaying the role of Ravan in Sony TV’s Shrimad Ramayan, has added an elaborate tattoo of Lankesh — the demon king of Lanka. Nikitin shared a video on his Instagram handle, showing how he got inked with a special message within it. In his post, the actor said that the tattoo is a “thanks to Mahadev,” further adding that the character made an everlasting impression on him.

“What is life, but a mirror of our experiences. The only wealth we truly have is our body. Tattoos have been believed by the Santal people of our country as the only thing we carry to our afterlife. Every tattoo is a strong impression made by life or an event that left an indelible imprint on the soul that needs to be transferred to the skin. So is this tattoo for Raavan. It’s a thanks to Mahadev for giving me the opportunity to live this character for 9 months..to try and understand his mind..he made an everlasting impression on me..just like the people who watched the interpretation shall remember him,” Nikitin wrote.

The actor went on to explain that there won’t be a bhakt (devotee) like Ravan ever again, nor will there be a king, a demon, or a Brahmin like him. “I thank him for coming into my life and I thank you all for your love and blessings.. I share this moment with you,” he concluded.

The video instantly garnered a lot of reactions from his fans. While many hailed the actor for his exemplary portrayal of Ravan, some claimed that it was inappropriate for him to get the tattoo on his leg. Unaffected by the backlash, Nikitin came with a befitting reply and said, “The body is a temple, I don’t know about yours, but mine is, I treat my body like a temple. My leg has nothing impure in it and the feeling matters most, when you pray and when you worship..I am a very proud Sanatani, and my belief does not need a certificate from anyone..I have never taken approval to live my life and I never will.”

This is not the first time that Nikitin Dheer has shown his devotion to God through tattoos. Earlier, he also got a powerful tattoo of the Goddess Kali on his right arm, describing it as a “promise kept.”
