Night curfew in Maharashtra as cases of omicrons rise, see timings here, revised guidelines

Due to the increase in the number of COVID cases in the state, the Maharashtra government revised its guidelines and SOPs and also imposed a night curfew with effect from 9 pm to 6 am. The state reported 1,410 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths and 868 discharged on Friday. The active caseload is 8,426. Also, 20 new cases of omicron were reported in the state, taking the total number of the new variant to 108.

Here are the SOPs issued by the state government:

  • Gathering of more than 5 persons in public places across the state is prohibited from 9 pm to 6 am.
  • The government said that now only 100 people are allowed in indoor weddings and no more than 250 people are allowed in outdoor weddings.
  • Only 50% capacity is allowed in gyms, spas, hotels, theaters and cinema halls.
  • The government also said that the number of people present in social, political, religious events should not exceed 100. In open spaces, the presence of not more than 25% of the capacity of any space is permitted.
