The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday raided 7 places across the country in connection with the plotting of major terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi. NIA raided Jodhpur and questioned a person named Barkat Ali for 5 hours in the morning. At the same time, IB and NIA officers interrogated him in the Intelligence Bureau office. Apart from Jodhpur, the team raided Jammu and Kashmir at some places in Sopore, Kupwara, Sofia, Rajouri, Budgam and Ganderbal.
A team of NIA raided Barkat Ali’s house in Ratanada area of Jodhpur in the morning, he was interrogated for about 5 hours. After questioning, the team left from there. After this Barkat Ali was called to the IB office for questioning. Here both the teams interrogated him jointly. Then Barkat Ali was taken to his house. However, during this time his bike remained parked outside the IB office. It is believed that the NIA can call Barkat Ali to Delhi for further questioning in the next few days.
Claim: I belonged to a security agency, I was threatened
The NIA team left after 5 hours of interrogation. After this Barkat also interacted with the media. Barkat claimed that I work with national security agencies along with journalism. I have been involved in many operations. Terrorism is increasing in the country, NIA team took information from me. Told me that if needed, I will talk to you again. Many groups like Popular Front of India are trying to spoil the atmosphere. I too have been threatened for a long time. A man was tricking people. I printed the news against him. After that I came to know that many people are associated with him. I have also gathered information. Threats were made about this.

Barkat told that after receiving the threat, the NIA team had interrogated him. He has claimed that I had shared some inputs to the government in this regard earlier as well. Barkat told that there was a team of about 7 to 8 people. Two of them were IPS as well.
Case related to promoting terrorist activities
It was told by the NIA that this raid is related to promoting terrorist activities in Delhi including the Kashmir Valley. NIA has so far arrested 28 people in this case. In the conspiracy, the strings of some organizations related to them including Lashkar-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, Albadr are connected. NIA teams have recovered many important documents related to the conspiracy of terror attacks from these people.
