The winners of News18 Shosha Reel Awards expressed their excitement on social media as their hard work got recognised.

Some of the biggest names of Indian cinema graced the News18 Shosha Reel Awards held in Mumbai recently. This year, the awards celebrated the growing bond between the world of over-the-top (OTT) platforms and the Hindi film industry as we felicitated all the achievers and stars on 25th February. The awards brought together the world’s biggest talents. Bollywood and OTT platforms under one roof.

The stars who took home the trophy on the award night included Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Manoj Bajpayee, Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao. Some of them even took to social media to post their awards, to express their excitement as their hard work was recognised. They shared notes of gratitude, as well as photos with our shiny new trophy.

Sidharth Malhotra won the Best Actor in the Popular Choice category for his role of Captain Vikram Batra in the film Shershaah. He shared a picture with the trophy and wrote, “Many thanks to @cnnnews18 #ShowshaReelAwards2023 for bestowing me with the Best Actor award for #Shershaah. I am truly humbled for this recognition. This film will always be special to me and I am glad that it has impressed the audience as well.

Big love and respect.”

Bhumi Pednekar, who won the Breakthrough Performance of the Year award given by the jury, penned a long note on Instagram and posed with the golden trophy, which looked like the perfect accessory to go with her outfit for the night.

“Awarded for not one but two pieces of my work that the jury deemed worthy of appreciation. This came as such a surprise. ‘Breakthrough Performance of the Year’ for #BadhaaiDo and #GovindanAamMera. Received the award from Ramesh Sippy sir and he patted me on the back saying well done. He was also on the jury and I was very overwhelmed there. Thank you #News18ShowshaReelAwards and the jury. This is for both my directors #HarshvardhanKulkarni @shashankkhaitan,” she wrote.

Rajkummar Rao, who was chosen as the Best Actor by the jury for his performance in Monica, O My Darling, shared a picture of his triumphant moment on stage and also a picture of his trophy.

Anupam Kher received the Standout Performance Award for his role in The Kashmir Files. The actor who shares a delightful bond with his mother Dulari shared his reaction on his big win and showed her the trophy. In a sweet video uploaded on Twitter, Anupam Kher’s mother is seen praising and blessing the actor for his hard work.

Neha Dhupia flaunts her trophy as she strikes some powerful poses for social media. She won Best Supporting Actress for her role in A Thursday.

Actor and anchor Maniesh Paul won the Best Actor in a Comic Role (Popular Choice) award. He posed with his trophy and wrote, “And it happened again!!! Won Best Actor in a Comic Role for Jag Jug Jeeyo at the @news18 @showsha_ Awards last night…Many many to all of you.” Thank you!! Thank you again and again for all your love. Thank you @karanjohar sir @apoorva1972 @raj_a_mehta @dharmamovies for making me a part of this wonderful journey called Jag Jug Jeeyo.”

Actress Divya Dutta won the Best Actor in a Negative Role award in the Popular Choice category for her role in Dhakad. He shared, “#Rohini has won hearts! It was heartening to receive the Best Actor in a Negative Role for #Dhaakad at the #news18reelmovieawards. Thank you my dear @razyl Livingtheblues for seeing the hard-core baddie in me! To be honest, I was surprised when you cast me. What a fun ride it was! Big hugs to my team!”

Kiara Advani was named Star of the Year at the News18 Shosha Reel Awards for her performances in Jugjag Jeeyo, Shershaah, Govinda Naam Mera and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. A day later, he won another award for his performance this year. He posted pictures of both the trophies.

Other winners of the night included Vidya Balan, who won the Best Actress (Jury) award for Jalsa, and Manoj Bajpayee, who won the Best Actor in a Web Series category for The Family Man Season 2.
