India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki today (April 15) launched the next-gen Ertiga in the country at a starting price of Rs 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is India’s most successful VFM 7-seater MPV and now gets an updated design, additional features and a new K-series 1.5-litre petrol engine that is mated to a new 6-speed auto gearbox. The next-gen K-series 1.5L petrol engine churns out 103 PS of maximum power at 6000 rpm and 136.8 Nm of peak torque at 4400 rpm. Available in both petrol and CNG options, the next-gen Ertiga offers mileage of 20.51 kmpl (Petrol) and 26.11 km/kg (CNG). The new 6-speed automatic transmission in the Ertiga and the automatic transmission variants also get a 5-speed manual transmission with segment-first-in-segment steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.
In terms of design, the next-gen Ertiga gets dynamic chrome winged front grille, new machined two-tone alloy wheels and back door garnish with chrome inserts. It is being offered in 6 color options with the introduction of two new colors – Splendid Silver and Dignity Brown.
Inside the cabin, there is a fresh new interior design with a new metallic teak-wooden finish on the dashboard, dual-tone seat fabric among other changes. The second row seat is equipped with a One Touch recline and slide mechanism. The 50:50 split third row seats with seatback recliner and flat fold option further add to the comfort.
Multiple adjustable air vents and three-stage speed control, cruise control, driver side auto-window with anti-pinch, auto headlamps with follow me home functionality, retractable key-operated ORVMs and roof for rear passengers with CNG- Mounted AC. Typical speedometer in the S-CNG variant.
The next-gen Ertiga comes equipped with the new 17.78 cm (7 in) Smart Play Pro infotainment system with an onboard voice assistant that can be triggered with the command “Hi Suzuki”. It also gets a built-in connected car experience called Suzuki Connect with 40+ features for vehicle safety and security, trips and driving behaviour, status alerts and remote operation.

The next-gen Ertiga can be accessed remotely via a compatible smart watch and voice connectivity via Suzuki Connect Skill for Amazon Alexa.
