New Look Liverpool: Work In Progress, Dependent On Salah’s Brilliance

After an ordinary last season, Liverpool needed some young blood and fresh legs to bolster their side. Jurgen Klopp’s coached side added some new names to their squad and it’s creating an impact in the ongoing Premier League season.

In the last season, the midfield lacked that effectiveness and it was causing lots of problems for Liverpool. However, Liverpool are now pressing all over the pitch again and having some fresh legs has definitely helped their cause.

During Liverpool’s win against West Ham, the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones, who had an average age of under 23, gave that impetus which was missing in the last season.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side still needs Mohamed Salah’s magic to get a favourable result. It also shows, how crucial it was for Liverpool to retain Salah after the star footballer got lucrative deals from Saudi Arabia.

Losing two of his main midfielders — Jordan Henderson and Fabinho — in the same transfer window didn’t help Klopp’s side. So, if Liverpool had also lost Salah, it would have done massive damage to the strength of the squad.

Saudis will definitely make bigger bids for Salah next summer but Liverpool will expect to have some magic from him this season.

During the ongoing season, Liverpool are still conceding too many goals but they have got enough firepower to recover and always look like they can score.

The new squad of Liverpool is far from perfect and they need to brush off a few things. They are still unbeaten in the Premier League and only Manchester City are above them in the points table.
