Iyer said that he should not get too carried away by the noise outside and stressed that ignorance is bliss.

Flamboyant middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer says the short ball did not bother him during last year’s Edgbaston Test and insisted that he was dismissed off good deliveries. Talking about the first innings at Edgbaston, it was a great delivery (off James Anderson) and after pitching it was seamed and swung in the air. Any player would have been out on that. In the second innings (off Matthew Potts), I tried to play pull and was caught. In my mind, I never thought I fought. I like to ignore all the noise outside and keep things simple. “I tell myself it is not the end of the world. You will get many opportunities. You should also realize that there will be opportunities to be successful in things outside international cricket as well. Playing domestic cricket is an opportunity to share your experiences with other players. And it’s a great way to help them if you can. When I didn’t make the cut for the World Cup, it gave me an opportunity to work on myself, help Mumbai win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and play Keep learning.
