Netherlands vs England, 1st ODI Highlights: England broke the world record to register the highest ODI total of 498/4 before registering a 232-run defeat to bowl out the Netherlands for 266 in the first ODI at Amstelveen. England had earlier set the record by scoring 481 for six against Australia. The Three Lions now have the top three highest scores in One Day Internationals. Jos Buttler played a brilliant innings of 162 runs in just 70 balls, while David Malan and Phil Salt also scored their maiden ODI centuries. Liam Livingstone then had some fireworks in England’s innings, scoring the joint second-fastest fifty in ODIs, off just 17 balls. Max O’Dowd and Scott Edwards then hit half-centuries for the Netherlands, but England’s batting performances were always the talk of narrowing the margin of defeat for the hosts.
