FMCG major Nestle India on Monday said its iconic brands Maggi, KitKat, Nescafe, Everyday will be wearing masks to create awareness and reinforce COVID-appropriate behavior among the masses. Nestle India said in a statement, Nestle is revamping its product packaging to leverage the strengths of iconic brands like Maggi, KitKat, Nescafe and Everyday.
A Nestle India spokesperson said that the company will launch a campaign in print and digital media to inform its consumers about packaging change, to create awareness. “Nestle India understands the need of the hour and wants to sensitize every individual about a basic practice that we all must follow,” the statement said.
The move comes amid a rise in fresh cases by experts and worrying R-values in several states. “To remind all of us and to create awareness about this very important safety, we have started working towards transforming our product packaging, which will ‘mask up’ our iconic brands. Our aim is to ensure that this important message is reinforced every time consumers view our products.”
Nestle aims to spread even more awareness on the importance of masking. The company has already implemented the changes to its factory lines and the products are expected to hit the market in the coming weeks.
“Our brands have a rich purpose and in the past too, packaging changes have been made to reflect important social messages such as ‘Educating the Girl Child’.” With 35,499 more people testing positive for COVID-19, India’s infection tally now stands at 3,19,69,954, according to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
The number of Kovid-19 infections in India crossed 20 lakh on 7 August, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September, 50 lakh on 16 September, 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October last year. . Lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and 1 crore on 19th December.
