Through an official notice, NTA has informed that the exam has been postponed for those candidates who were allotted centers in Manipur, and the new date will be announced later.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2023 examination in Manipur as the state is gripped by panic. The exam was scheduled for tomorrow, May 7, but has been postponed indefinitely. Through an official notice, NTA has informed that the exam has been postponed for those candidates who were allotted centers in Manipur, and the new date will be announced later. Meanwhile, registered candidates are also being informed through automated calls and emails.

Violence broke out in the state on Wednesday between the Meitei community, which is in majority, living in the Imphal Valley, and the Naga and Kuki tribals, residents of hill districts, demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. ,

The official notice from NTA states, “You are informed that the NEET (UG)-2023 examination has been postponed for those candidates who were allotted examination centers in the state of Manipur and their examination will be held on a later date.” will be held.” The decision on the exam was taken after the Minister of State (MoS) for Education, Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh wrote a letter to the NTA requesting the possibility of rescheduling the exam due to the prevailing situation in Manipur.

“Due to the prevailing situation in Manipur, students cannot appear in the NEET (UG)-2023 exam due to broadband and internet connectivity issues,” Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh said at a press conference. He further requested the agency to reschedule or postpone the medical examination to centers in the state.

Apart from Manipur, all other states and union territories (UTs) will be conducting NEET UG 2023 exam tomorrow as per schedule. The entrance test will be conducted from 2 PM to 5:20 PM.

On May 3, NTA released the NEET UG 2023 admit card and before that, the exam authority released the exam city slip. Students appearing for the exam can download both from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates will be able to access the admit card from the main site only after entering the Application Number and Date of Birth (DOB). All the students are advised to bring their admit card and valid ID proof on the day of examination.
