NEET PG counseling will begin from January 6, from documents required to latest rules, all you need to know

In a relief to lakhs of doctors across the country, the President of the Indian Medical Association said on Friday that Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has assured that the counseling for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) will start before January 6. The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) withdrew its protest in the national capital on December 31. The doctors resumed services from noon on the same day, ending the 15-day-long protest.

Apart from this, in a statement issued earlier by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), it has been said that the issue of reservation of 27 percent for OBC and 10 percent for EWS students in AIQ medical seats is pending in the Supreme Court and is to be heard in January. 6 next year, adding that NEET counseling 2021 for UG and PG admissions will start after SC’s decision.

AIQ NEET Counseling 2021: Documents Required

Once the counseling starts, here is the list of documents that the candidates will need. They have to upload some of these documents including these at the time of registration and have to carry the originals during the admission process.

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) had also informed the candidates that NEET Counseling 2021 will be conducted in four rounds in online mode. This includes All India Quota (AIQ) Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Round and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round) from academic year 2021-22 onwards.

News18 had earlier reported that lakhs of candidates who have passed National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Post Graduate (NEET PG) 2021 are waiting for their counseling and thus college admissions are about to begin. Later, the delay in counseling resulted in delay in admission to the medical college. This is not only affecting this year’s NEET PG aspirants, but has also “burnt” the resident doctors of most government hospitals.

Recently, in view of the protest of the doctor, a step has been taken to expedite the PG counseling. During the protest, the police took action against the doctors. The police also allegedly stopped the doctors from marching to the Supreme Court and filed an FIR against some of them. The police action received national criticism, following which the health minister assured that the NEET-PG counseling would be held around January 6.
