NEET PG 2023: FAIMA Demands Exam Postponement by 2-3 Months

Medical aspirants claim that if NEET PG 2023 is conducted on the given date (March 5), around 10,000 candidates will be left behind as they are not eligible for the paper.

Currently thousands of medical aspirants are demanding to postpone the exam National Eligibility cum Entrance-Post Graduate (NEET PG) 2023, The students are requesting the Health Ministry to postpone the exams for two to three months. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) had announced that NEET PG 2023 will be conducted on March 5 this year.

Medical aspirants claim that if NEET PG 2023 is conducted on the given date (March 5), around 10,000 candidates will be left behind as they are not eligible to appear for the paper. The Indian Medical Association (IMA), in a letter to the Union Health Ministry, has said that rescheduling the NEET PG 2023 exam will give enough time to those who are currently doing their mandatory internship to prepare for the entrance exam.

There is no recent update. We are waiting for @MoHFW_INDIA to clarify its stand. If nothing comes our way then we have the option of going to the honorable court.”

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) recently wrote a letter to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya asking him to postpone NEET PG 2023 by two to three months. IMA said that there are many aspiring MBBS students who have not yet completed their internship. These students will miss their opportunity to pursue post graduate education as the date of NEET PG does not match with the date of completion of internship in different parts of the country.

On 7 February, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) extended Compulsory internship cut-off date for NEET PG 2023 candidates From 30 June to 11 August. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has re-opened the registration window for NEET PG for those completing their internship between July 1 and August 11 this year. For applicants whose internship is ending between April 1 and June 30, the registration process for NEET MDS 2023 will resume from February 10 (3:00 pm onwards). Medical aspirants can register themselves by visiting the official website natboard.edu.in. nbe.edu.in.
