Medical aspirants have demanded that the entrance exam be postponed to April or May instead of being held on March 5
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET PG 2023 will not be postponed. The Supreme Court resumed the hearing on the NEET PG stay petition today i.e. 27 February 2023. While hearing the petitions, the apex court has dismissed the petition. NEET PG 2023 will be conducted as per schedule on March 5, 2023.
The matter related to the postponement of NEET PG 2023 was heard by a bench of Justices S Ravindra Bhat and Dipankar Datta.
During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati submitted that NBE and MCC will start the counseling process from July 15, 2023 and will not wait till August 11, 2023 deadline. Candidates will be able to participate in the counseling process provisionally.
Bhati revealed that around two lakh three thousand students had applied in the first window. After the internship deadline was extended, only 6,000 students applied, making it a minority demand
The petition seeking postponement of the exam scheduled to be held on March 5, 2023 has been filed by 13 medical aspirants. The petitioners said that the students are finding it difficult to find time to prepare for the exams due to their internship duties.
The last hearing on the matter was held on Friday when a division bench of Justice S Ravindra Bhat and Justice Dipankar Datta declined to pass orders in the matter and instead adjourned the hearing.
