NEET PG 2023 candidates had earlier moved the Telangana High Court, which did not pass any order on postponing the exam. However, HC asks NMC to reconsider exam date

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2023 is just a few weeks away and a section of candidates are still demanding the postponement of the exam. NEET PG 2023 candidates had earlier moved the Telangana High Court, which did not pass any order on postponing the exam. However, the High Court, while hearing the petition, asked the National Medical Commission (NMC) to reconsider the exam date fixed on March 5. The High Court has given two weeks time to NMC to file its reply.

After no definite order was received from the Telangana HC on postponing the exams, students seeking rescheduling of the exams have moved the Supreme Court. However, the petition has not yet been listed for hearing.

NMC refused to change the exam date and reply was sent to Telangana HC. However, NMC is expected to re-conduct the exam after the HC order to reconsider the date.

After Telangana HC order, Dr Rohan Krishnan, President of Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) spoke in favor of the aggrieved students. He also requested Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to reschedule the exam to a later date in May or June.

“The dates of NEET PG should be reconsidered as per the order of the Telangana High Court. @NMC_IND has been given two weeks time for this. It is more likely that they will come up with a new date and will not go to the Supreme Court. I request @mansukhmandviya sir to give May-June date! @MoHFW_INDIA @FAIMA_INDIA_” tweeted Dr Krishnan.

All this comes in response to the recent statement made by the Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya in the Parliament regarding the NEET PG 2023 Examination The minister had said that the examination would be conducted on the scheduled date. In support of the decision, he said that the exam date was announced five months in advance so that students do not face any kind of trouble during their preparation.
