Newlyweds Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan got embroiled in controversy during their visit to Tirupati temple in Tirupati. After a wedding in Mahabalipuram, the couple went to the hill shrine of Tirupati to attend the Kalyanotsava of Lord Venkateswara. Soon, he was given a legal notice for walking in shoes and doing photoshoots inside the temple. However, Shivan has issued a statement apologizing for this.

In pictures and videos that have gone viral on the internet, Nayanthara was seen walking around the premises of the shrine with her footwear. According to Narasimha Kishore, Chief Vigilance Security Officer, Tirumala Tirupati Deshasthanam Board, wearing sandals is strictly prohibited inside the temple premises. He said, “She (Nayanthara) was seen walking around in Mada Streets with shoes and slippers. Our security reacted immediately. We have even seen that she did a photo shoot inside the temple premises, which was again banned. Private cameras are not allowed inside the holy shrine”.

Informing that they will soon give a legal notice to the actor, he said, “We are giving notice to Nayanthara. We have spoken to her as well and she is releasing a video to the press apologizing to Lord Balaji, TTD and pilgrims.” However, we are going to give her notice.”

Vignesh Shivan issues apology

Soon, Vignesh Shivan came with an apology. He sent an apology to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board. “After marriage we went straight to Tirupati temple without going home and attended Ezhumalayan’s marriage ceremony. After that, a lot of people came out of the temple and surrounded us. So we left and after a while, we came Opposite Ezhumalayan Temple.

“We quickly finished the photo shoot and decided to move out because fans would surround us if they saw us. In the ensuing uproar, we failed to notice that we were walking in that area with shoes on Where wearing shoes was forbidden. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have been to Tirupati five times in the last month with the desire to get married in Tirupati. Due to various reasons, it was not possible to hold our wedding at Tirupati temple,” the letter read.
