Nobody nails his characters like Nawazuddin Siddiqui does. The actor has time and again impressed everyone by essaying prominent personalities in Manto and Thackeray. The Gangs Of Wasseypur actor had made his Tamil debut with Rajinikanth starrer ‘Petta’ and after that film, he harboured a guilt. Nawazuddin Siddiqui opened up about the same in a recent interview with Galatta Plus.

The actor shared in his interaction, “When I did Petta with Rajini sir, I was in a lot of guilt after finishing the film’s shooting because I thought I was taking money for a thing in which I had no idea what I was doing. I thought I made them a fool of them because I was getting prompting and I was lip-syncing on that. I didn’t understand a lot of things there.”

Since Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to make his Telugu debut with Saindhav, the actor is not keen about reliving the experience once again, “This is why in Saindhav I did everything. I did my own dubbing and I understood the meaning of each and every dialogue that I was shooting for. So, my guilt reduced a bit,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was last seen in the film Haddi, wherein the essayed the role of a transwoman. “Undoubtedly, the character was a complex one, but our approach was clear from the beginning. When portraying a transgender character, it’s not just about acting; it’s about capturing the essence of their inner world. We undertook this role with the genuine intention of delving into their innermost feelings and experiences, and I believe that the effort was absolutely worthwhile,” he told News18 Showsha in an exclusive conversation while talking about the film.
