Maharashtra cabinet minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik on Wednesday posted purported photographs of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede’s ‘nikah’. The NCP leader also posted a screenshot of the ‘Nikahnama’ of Wankhede with his first wife Dr Shabana Qureshi. A day later, Malik shared a letter apparently received from an NCB official claiming that Wankhede had violated the rules and had implicated people in false cases to extort money. Malik had earlier also accused Wankhede of using fake birth certificates to get government jobs.
Meanwhile, Wankhede had earlier said that all the allegations were false and he was being targeted and that he was ready to investigate the allegations against him. The NCB on Tuesday also denied investigation of an anonymous letter received by Malik which he had sent to NCB Director General SN Pradhan. Sameer Wankhede is probing the Mumbai cruise ship drugs case in which Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son has been arrested.
