Admiral R. Hari Kumar took over as the new Chief of the Indian Navy on Tuesday. On this occasion, the country got a glimpse of Indian culture. Even after reaching such a high position, Admiral Kumar did not forget his values. In fact, after taking over, Kumar got emotional and touched his mother’s feet and took blessings and later hugged.

News agency ANI has also released a video in which Admiral Kumar is seen taking blessings by touching her mother’s feet. Before taking charge of the chief, he was honored with a guard of honour.

On the occasion of taking office, Kumar said- Admiral Karambir Singh is retiring today after serving the country for 41 years. We are grateful for his leadership and guidance. The Indian Navy will always be grateful to him.

Joined the Indian Navy in 1983
Admiral Kumar was the Commander-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command before taking over the reins of the Navy. Born on 12 April 1962, Admiral Kumar, joined the Indian Navy on 1 January 1983. During his long and distinguished service of nearly 38 years, Admiral Kumar has served in various commands and staff. These include Coast Guard Ship C-01, commanding ships of the Indian Navy along with ships like Nishank, Kora, Ranvir and Aircraft Carrier INS Viraat.

Former Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh said- It is a matter of great pride for me to serve as the Chief of Indian Navy for the last 30 months. During this, the country and the Navy have faced difficult times during the Kovid epidemic. The Navy has shown its best in this difficult time.
