Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Sidhu’s troubles may increase. A review petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against Sidhu, who is in the race for the CM face of Congress. Which the SC will hear tomorrow. This incident is from the year 1988. In which an elderly person was killed during the quarrel. Sidhu had to give up the seat of Amritsar MP after being convicted in this case by the High Court. This is a big setback for the Congress in Punjab. Earlier, the ED has been raided in the illegal sand mining case against Bhupinder Honey, nephew of CM Charanjit Channi. Now Sidhu is also seen getting caught in a legal affair.

1988 case
The road rage case against Sidhu dates back to the year 1988. Sidhu got into a fight with a 65-year-old man named Gurnam Singh while going by car in Patiala. It is alleged that there was a scuffle between them and later Gurnam Singh died. Police registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Navjot Singh Sidhu and his friend Rupinder Singh Sidhu.

Thereafter the matter reached the court. During the hearing, the lower court had acquitted Navjot Singh Sidhu in 1999 citing lack of evidence. After this, the aggrieved party reached the High Court against the decision of the lower court. In the year 2006, the High Court sentenced Navjot Singh Sidhu to three years imprisonment and a fine of one lakh rupees in this case.

Supreme Court first left by imposing fine

Navjot Singh Sidhu reached the Supreme Court against the sentence given by the High Court. On May 16, 2018, the Supreme Court acquitted Sidhu under section 304IPC for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. However, Sidhu was convicted under section 323 (intentional hurt). For which he was not sentenced to jail but was released after paying a fine of one thousand rupees. However, now a petition was filed on behalf of the family of the deceased that Sidhu should be punished under 304IPC. After accepting the petition, now the bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice SK Kaul will hear in the Supreme Court tomorrow.

Sister has also made serious allegations

Earlier, his NRI sister Suman Toor has also made serious allegations against Navjot Sidhu. He said that after the death of his father, Sidhu did not take care of his mother. He died like an unclaimed at the railway station in Delhi. Sidhu, however, denied the allegations and said that after 30 years his mother was being taken out of the grave for politics.
