Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space and Government of India have signed an MoU with the smartphone maker Opposition To strengthen research and development of domestic satellite navigation system Sailor messaging service.
The MoU aims to pave the way for future cooperation between ISRO and Oppo India To develop indigenous solutions by incorporating NavIC short messaging feature in Oppo smartphones in the country. It enables ISRO and OPPO to exchange technical know-how of NAVIC messaging services to create a ready-to-use, end-to-end application-specific solution by integrating the NAVIC messaging service with the mobile handset platform keeping in mind the need of users in India. will be able to provide.

NavIC or Navigation with Indian Constellation is a regional geo-positioning system designed in India by the space agency ISRO to provide accurate positioning in and around the Indian mainland. It is considered on par with the US-based GPS, Russia’s GLONASS and Europe’s Galileo. ISRO considers the navigator to be more accurate than GPS with a position accuracy of 5 meters. Also, NavIC is powered by dual frequency (S and L bands) while GPS is dependent on L band only which makes it more accurate than GPS.
The NavIC system provides regional navigation services covering an area of up to 1500 km from the Indian mainland and the Indian mainland.
