National Herald case: ED questioned Rahul for 8 hours, summoned again on Friday

New Delhi: On Wednesday, the third day of his appearance in the National Herald money laundering case, the Enforcement Directorate questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for nearly eight hours. Gandhi (51) left the Enforcement Directorate (ED) headquarters at APJ Abdul Kalam Road in central Delhi around 9.30 pm.

His statement was recorded over several sessions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and after Wednesday’s round of questioning, He has spent nearly 30 hours with ED investigators,

The agency has called him for the fourth day on June 17 as he had sought exemption on Thursday.

The grand old party has termed the Centre’s agency’s action against opposition leaders as a politics of vengeance as its supporters continued to protest on the streets leading to the ED office.

The probe pertains to alleged financial irregularities involving Congress-promoted Young Indian Pvt Ltd, which owns the National Herald.
