Narendra Giri death: CBI files chargesheet against 3 accused. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: Two months after the death of the then Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) chief Mahant Narendra GiriThe Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday filed a chargesheet against three persons, including his disciple Anand Giri, for abetting Narendra Giri’s suicide.
The CBI said there is sufficient evidence against the trio of abetment to suicide and criminal conspiracy in connection with the alleged suicide of Mahant who was hanged at his ashram in UP’s Prayagraj in September.
Apart from Anand, Adi Prasad Tiwari and Sandeep Tiwari were also named in the chargesheet. The trio were named in the suicide note of Narendra Giri, who had accused them of mentally torturing them, following which the police registered an FIR on charges of abetment to suicide under IPC section 306.
In the chargesheet, three accused, including Anand Giri, were charged under sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Harendra Nath, taking cognizance of the chargesheet, said that sufficient grounds are available for taking cognizance. Further, the three accused who appeared through video conferencing did not raise any objection.
The three accused are already in jail as they were arrested within 24 hours and remanded to judicial custody after Mahant’s death.
After 48 hours, the CBI took over the case from the UP Police on the recommendation of the UP government.
During the investigation, the agency has recovered tapes of conversations between the accused and sent them for forensic examination. At one stage, it even moved the court and obtained permission to record voice samples from Anand Giri and other accused, which they want to compare with the tapes recovered.
The body of the then ABAP President Narendra Giri was found hanging from the ceiling of a room at Shree Matha Baghambari Gaddi in Georgetown police station area of ​​Prayagraj on September 20, 2021.
At present, all of them are lodged in Naini Central Jail in Prayagraj.
