Nani is not the first actor who has come out in support of Rashmika Mandanna. Vijay Deverakonda, Naga Chaitanya and Mrunal Thakur among others also expressed concern over the viral video.

Actor Nani has reacted to Rashmika Mandanna’s viral deepfake video controversy. The Telugu star was speaking to India Today recently when he mentioned that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for such videos is ‘very scary’ and ‘dangerous’.

“Mostly the girls fall prey to it, but I am sure there are many others who did go through it and it’s just now we saw an example of what it could be. But I think it’s far more dangerous than what we are imagining now because we don’t know or we can’t even anticipate in what kind of situation it could be used,” the actor said.

The Dasara actor further appreciated Rashmika Mandanna for handling the situation boldly and added, “not everyone will be as strong as Rashmika. There’s a lot of support, there are people who are discussing it and showing the original clip and helping out. But what happens? When it happens to someone – be a sister, a cousin, a friend, and let’s say they are not in the media, not a popular person – they will not be able to handle it or clear themselves out.”

Nani further argued that we, as a society need to take responsibility for such incidents and need to fight against it. “It is very scary and I just hope we, as a society, it’s not one person’s responsibility. I think we as a society should be ready to tackle that and to get that awareness about what these things could do and also to fight it back,” he expressed.

Nani is not the first actor who has come out in support of Rashmika Mandanna. The issue grabbed everyone’s attention after Amitabh Bachchan demanded legal action in the case. Vijay Deverakonda, Naga Chaitanya and Mrunal Thakur among others also expressed concern over the viral video.

For the unversed, a morphed video of Rashmika Mandanna recently went viral on social media. In the clip, the woman with Rashmika’s face was seen getting into a lift, wearing a fitted outfit. However, it was soon clarified that the viral clip was deepfake.
