Nandamuri Balakrishna to voice Mike Tyson’s character in Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger: Report

Known for playing larger-than-life characters, Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna will soon be collaborating with Puri Jagannadh in the upcoming film, Ligar. Both of them have come together for money before this. The upcoming sports action film will feature Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in lead roles. Liger makers announced that they have welcomed legendary heavy-weight boxing champion Mike Tyson to play a special role.

According to a report in Times of India, Balakrishna will lend his voice to boxing the character of the legendary Tyson in the film. Balakrishna is the son of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and acting legend NT Rama Rao. The star acted in over 100 films in a career spanning 40 years.

Subsequently, Balakrishna will make his digital debut as a talk show host for the Telugu OTT platform. He recently completed the shooting of his film Akhand in Hyderabad. This is his third venture with filmmaker Boyapati Srinu after Simha and Legend.

Last month, the veteran actor was clicked with the Liger team on the sets. The image featured Vijay, filmmaker Jagannath and the film’s co-producer Charmi Kaur. Sharing the photo on Twitter, Vijay wrote, ‘Jai Balaiya’.

Last month, the makers of Liger announced that the “world’s worst man” (read Mike Tyson) would be seen playing a pivotal role in the film. The lead actor wrote in the caption, “Hello Tyson”. “We promised you madness. We are just getting started. First time on Indian screen. Joining our collective spectacle.”

Liger will see Vijay essay the role of a mixed martial arts fighter. Other prominent roles will be played by Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Makarand Deshpande and Getup Srinu.
