Nalgonda: A fifth class student Gurram Meghana has painted 100 pictures of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to express her love for him.

Nine-year-old Meghana, daughter of Gurram Venkatesh, a resident of Padmavathi Colony here, took to drawing and had a special interest in painting pictures of the Chief Minister. Her father encouraged her to hone her skills. Meghana painted more than 100 pictures of Chandrashekhar Rao using different colours. Interestingly, every painting of the Chief Minister by Meghana has a special theme related to welfare schemes and development programs of his government. She has more than 20 paintings on Telangana Ku Haritha Haram that are really throught-provoking.

For the Chief Minister’s birthday on February 17, she came up with the innovative idea of painting Chandrashekhar Rao on 14 welfare schemes on a banyan leaf.

When she tweeted her drawings to Green India Challenge, Rajya Sabha MP Joginipalli Santhosh Kumar complimented her saying: “Heart touching gift from little lad. Impressed by the keen observation around her. What we are doing at Green India Challenge is to create safe future in terms of healthy atmosphere.”
Speaking to Telangana Today, Meghana said majority of her paintings related to the Chief Minister and his government’ schemes. “KCR is my favorite political leader, which prompted me to use my skill to paint his portraits,” she added.

Venkatesh said: “We observed that Meghana was spending time drawing pictures with pencil at the age of two. To encourage her interest, we extended necessary support to her to improve her skill. Meghana is generally enthusiastic about painting Chandrashekhar Rao rather than any other subject.”

Meghana’s artistice skills fetched her a place in International Jai India Book of Records in 2021 and her drawings were displayed at the arts gallery of Telangana Cartoonist Welfare Association held in Hyderabad in 2019.
