In a stern message to party leaders, Madhya Pradesh BJP in-charge Muralidhar Rao called him a ‘nayak’ (inept) for being unhappy despite being elected MP and MLA several times and claimed that he did not get enough opportunities.

Rao was addressing a meeting with the party’s SC cell office bearers at the Ravidas Mandir in Bhopal on Thursday. “If someone, after being elected as an MP or MLA for three, four or five times, says that he did not get enough chances, then there is no one more disqualified (hero) than him,” Rao said. The Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government is getting a place in the state cabinet.

He added: “These leaders also surround their party to vent their anger.”

After inducting Scindia loyalists into the state cabinet last year, several former ministers had missed out on cabinet berths. Many believe that the BJP has sent a strong message to the dissidents ahead of the by-elections, asking them to remain united despite personal rivalry.

Rao said that the empowerment of Dalits is the only agenda of the BJP for the future. He said that the unfinished work, if any, related to the education and employment of Dalits should not be left unfinished.

Coming down heavily on the Congress, the senior leader said that the “oldest party” had handled the government from panchayats to Parliament, but was now a “failed” party.

He also said that if there is any party in the country that cares about Dalits, it is the BJP. The leader also spoke to intellectuals and party workers from the Dalit community.
