Guwahati: Assam CM flagged off two trains with Vistadome services Himanta Biswa Sarma and Minister of State for Railways Darshan Jardosh and Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh at Guwahati Railway Station. Pema Khandu Feather Naharlagun Station on Sunday.
Two new Vistadome trains will run between Guwahati and Naharlagun and Naharlagun Tinsukia,
“The railways has also decided to extend the existing Vistadome service between Guwahati and New Haflong up to Badarpur,” NF Railway CPRO Guneet Kaur said in a statement.
According to an official statement, the regular services of Naharlagun-Guwahati-Naharlagun Shatabdi Express with Vistadome coaches will resume from December 20. This train will depart from Naharlagun at 6.45 am on Monday, Tuesday and Friday and on every Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Guwahati covers a distance of 343 kms at 1.45 pm.
The regular services of Tinsukia-Naharlagun-Tinsukia Vistadome Express will start from 21st December and will run from Tinsukia on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and from Naharlagun on every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The train will cover a distance of 225 kms from Tinsukia at 4 pm and from Naharlagun at 5.30 am.
The existing Guwahati-New Haflong-Guwahati Vistadome will now run up to Badarpur from 22nd December and will leave Guwahati at 6.45 am and will cover a distance of 341 kms from Badarpur at 3.15 am.
The CPRO said that with the addition of two more Vistadome trains, there are now three such services in the region besides transforming trade and tourism in the Northeast through rail connectivity and promoting the cultural heritage of the region.
Vistadome coaches are equipped with state-of-the-art glass windows and all-glass roofs to provide tourists with views of the open sky, mountains, tunnels, bridges, hills, tea gardens and lush green forests. The CPRO said it would also have observation lounges for sightseeing.
