Nagpur man dies of heart attack during sex; Expert tells if there is a link

Recently 28-year-old Ajay Parteki of Nagpur died under mysterious circumstances while having sex with his girlfriend at a lodge in Sauner. This incident has left netizens worried and to find out if there is any connection between sex and heart, recently, Dr Abhinay Gupta of Regency Hospital answered few questions.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Dr. Gupta said, “Sex or physical intimacy is a natural act, a type of aerobic physical activity. It increases the risk of heart attack for individuals with healthy heart and most of the population in general.” Not a factor.”

“Sexual activity elevates your heart rate,” he said, adding that people with stable heart conditions have nothing to worry about. The health expert also assured people that it is safe for them to have sex if they are able to jog, walk a mile or climb comfortably. In addition, the cardiologist warned, “If one is experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath or irregular heartbeat, he/she should abstain from any heavy physical exertion, including sex.”

He even said that people who are taking medicines due to heart problems should always consult their doctor before taking erectile dysfunction pills.

According to Dr Gupta, the chances of having a heart attack during intercourse are extremely low. “For every 10,000 people who have sex once a week, only 2 in 3 will have a heart attack,” he said.

According to him, “men who have sex at least twice a week and women who report satisfactory sex lives are less likely to have a heart attack.”

He also noted that sex is a form of exercise that helps strengthen your heart, lower your blood pressure, reduce stress, and improve sleep.
