Nagaland Election 2023: ‘State Suffers From Want of Good Roads, Electricity, Water Supply, Jobs’, Says Congress

KOHIMA: The Congress alleged that the BJP’s “tall claims” on Nagaland’s development are far from the “ground reality” as the northeastern state is still reeling under good roads, proper power and water supply, besides massive unemployment. Is. AICC media coordinator Mahima Singh claimed that the BJP was trying to “fool” the people of the state by coming to power with the NDPP. “While two major cities of the state, Dimapur and Kohima, face erratic power and water supply and bad roads, the situation is worse in other parts of the state…the youth do not have jobs,” he told reporters on Wednesday. Is.”

Singh asserted that the Congress will not stop raising questions in favor of the welfare of the people.

He alleged that due to the tendency of BJP-NDPP to cling to power, election violence is taking place in many constituencies and small villages. Singh said that the Congress has submitted a representation in this regard to the DGP through the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur.

He called upon the people of Nagaland to remain united and shun violence and “throw money and muscle power” in this election.

Singh said it was time for the party which ruled the state for 20 years, yet ‘has no report card’ to be voted out of power. He said senior Congress leaders including Jairam Ramesh would visit the poll-bound state on Thursday.

Elections to the 60-member assembly in the northeastern state will be held on February 27. The counting of votes will take place on March 2.
