Slamming the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister for his tweet, Sami called him “a regional minded frog in the pond”.
Responding to the tweet, Sami, who became an Indian citizen in 2016, said, “A regional minded frog in the pond who cannot think of the sea as it is beyond his little nose!! To create regional divisions.” Shame on you and unable to embrace or propagate national pride!”

However, he faced backlash and had to reply to some Twitter users.
When asked why “North Indians don’t learn to speak the language of the South while the South learn the language of India”, he said, “While every language is precious and all are worthy of love and respect, you need to stop this ridiculous nonsense and make the majority needs to be accepted.” Reality!”
Well, in that case, don’t dub your movies in Hindi which eventually makes them the huge hits that they become! Keep them in regional language only!!
While every language is precious and deserving of all love and respect, you need to stop this ridiculous nonsense and accept it… https://t.co/CbOzSfdLjg— Adnan Sami (@AdnanSamiLive) March 13, 2023
In another tweet, Sami said, “My issue has never been about language. My issue has been very simple… All languages, regardless of their origin and dialect, ultimately share a common ground of being Indian first.” There are under the umbrella and then some more – that’s all. I have sung innumerable songs in regional languages with equal effort and equal respect for all..”
My issue has never been about language. My point has been very simple… all languages, regardless of their origin and dialect, are ultimately under an umbrella of being Indian first and then something else – that’s all!
I have sung innumerable songs in regional languages… https://t.co/Lz62KqmZVH— Adnan Sami (@AdnanSamiLive) March 13, 2023
Earlier in January this year, the singer had attacked Reddy for his “Telugu flag flying high message” on ‘RRR’ and won a Golden Globe award for its song ‘Naatu Naatu’.
Reddy wrote on his official Twitter account, “The Telugu flag is flying high! On behalf of entire Andhra Pradesh, I congratulate MM Keeravani, SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR, Ram Charan and the entire team of RRR Movie. We are ” Incredibly proud of you!”
Responding to the tweet, Sami said, “Telugu flag? You mean the Indian flag right? We are Indians first and so please stop separating ourselves from the rest of the country… Especially internationally, we are one country.” This ‘separatist’ attitude is highly unhealthy as we saw in 1947!!! Thank you…Jai Hind!”

“RRR” (Rise Roar Revolt) is a pre-independence fictional story and follows two real-life Indian revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Junior NTR) in the 1920s.
‘Jai Ho’ from the 2008 British film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ directed by Danny Boyle was the first Hindi song to win an Academy Award in the Best Original Score and Original Song categories. It was composed by AR Rahman and written by Gulzar.
