Deepika Padukone couldn’t hold back her tears as RRR’s Natu Natu won Best Original Song at Oscars 2023. The actress, who performed Naatu Naatu at the 95th Academy Awards, was seated in the crowd along with other attendees and was seen breaking down in tears. Though she was seated away from the RRR team, Deepika did not shy away from showing her support to the team of the SS Rajamouli film and celebrated their win from her seat.

It plays during a crucial scene in RRR, a film about the friendship between real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Apart from being sung in Telugu and reflecting the anti-colonial themes of the film, it is also full bang. It has been viewed millions of times on YouTube and TikTok, has audiences dancing in movie theaters across the world, and is also the first song from an Indian production to be nominated for an Oscar.
