Mysuru civic body to take action against those who damage roads Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysore: The Mysuru Municipal Corporation (mcc) Notice to agencies causing damage to city roads, collect fines and confiscate the security deposit.
This action comes when several roads and major road junctions were damaged during laying DMU Laying cables and pipes for water supply. The survey conducted by the civic body has indicated that both government agencies and private firms are causing damage to the roads.
The MCC is facing the wrath of motorists and other road users while moving on the damaged stretches. Tripping/skidding is their common complaint while negotiating potholes and potholes. The MCC has received complaints of potholes on all major roads, including the 5-6 km connecting City Railway Station and Nanjangud Road, the incomplete Silk Factory Road at HD Kote-Manandawadi Road, Akkamahadevi Road at Vidyaranayapuran, JP Nagar, Siddharthnagar, of various roads. Since most of the roads are full of potholes, motorists are afraid of riding/driving on these roads during the rainy season. “Damaged roads pose a threat to the safety of motorists, especially during the night. Umesh, a resident of JP Nagar, said that there have been accidents with two-wheelers and four-wheelers as well.
When contacted, MCC commissioner Laxmikanth Reddy told TOI that the civic body has initiated measures to repair the damaged roads using grants sanctioned under the 14th and 15th Finance Commissions. He said that if the agencies keep potholes and potholes open on the roads after completing their work, it will collect the fine and forfeit their security deposit.
