Google’s Calendar app has been creating false events throughout the day that appear to be related to emails received in a user’s Gmail account.

It seems that over the past few days, many users are experiencing glitches in the Google Calendar mobile app. Specifically, the app has been creating false events throughout the day that appear to be related to emails received in a user’s Gmail account.

Although the exact cause of this bug is not yet clear, emails with the mentioned dates could be a trigger. According to 9to5Google, there is no clear pattern to the bug at this time. At this time it is unknown how widespread the problem is or how it will be addressed.

Various types of email, including notices and newsletters, seem to be causing events throughout the day to automatically be added to the Google Calendar app.

9to5Google adds that the potential solution to this problem may be relatively simple. One solution is to go into Google Calendar settings and navigate to Settings > Events from Gmail. In this section, you can try turning off the checkbox for “Automatically add events from Gmail to my calendar”. False incidents are being created all day long.

It’s worth noting that this fix may not work for everyone and it’s always a good idea to back up your data before making changes to your settings. If this solution doesn’t work for you, it may be in your best interest to wait for an official fix from Google.
