Prithvi Shaw reveals his feelings after being selected for the T20I series against New Zealand

Prithvi Shaw was called into the Indian squad for the T20I series against New Zealand and on Friday, ahead of the first match of the series in Ranchi, Shaw gave his first reaction after making the cut.

In a video shared by the BCCI ahead of the first T20, Shaw revealed that after being selected in the Indian team, he received so many calls and messages that his phone was hanging up.

the former India The U-19 captain recalled that the team was announced late at night, and he was horrified to realize that he had made it to the senior team.

The 23-year-old spoke at length about his return to the senior team after a long absence.

“I was not part of the team for a long time. But I am happy to be back. So the team came a little late in the night, around 10:30 or so. I saw a lot of calls and messages. My phone was hanging up I was like, ‘What really happened?’

Having last played for India in July 2021, the opener has been in scintillating form in the domestic circuit. He recently grabbed headlines when he scored 370 against Assam in early January.

Shaw thanked her parents, and everyone who was by her side, and continued to support her even when things didn’t go her way.

“It has been a tough journey for me over the past 18 months. But the people who have supported me throughout my career and not only since I have been playing for India, but were there before as well,” Shaw said.

The opener said, “I really like that they are standing by me. I am really happy that they keep supporting me even if I am not playing. My friends, my family, my father and my Coach, I’m really lucky to have those people in my life.”

The Hardik Pandya-led Indian team will take on New Zealand at the JSCA International Stadium to continue their winning streak.
