Mohsin Khan dedicated his match-winning performance against Mumbai Indians to his ailing father, who was in the ICU for the last 10 days.

Mohsin Khan dedicated his match-winning performance to his father, whom he revealed was in the ICU recently. The 24-year-old was undeniably under pressure as Naveen-ul-Haq conceded 19 runs in the final over of the innings with Tim David and the momentum seemed to have swung in MI’s favour, but Mohsin kept his cool .

Asked about his approach and mindset in the final over, Khan said he was trying to follow what he practiced in the nets.

“The plan was what I did in practice and I executed it. Even Krunal was talking to me and I told him the same. Same run-up, didn’t change it in the last over. I was trying to calm myself, not looking at the scoreboard and bowled 6 balls well,” Mohsin said.

“Since the wicket was gripping, I tried the slower ball but I bowled two of those and then turned to the yorker and it was reversing as well,” the fast bowler said.

Mohsin also talked about last year when he suffered an injury, the surgery he had to undergo after shining last season for LSG, and how his father was in the ICU for the last 10 days.

“Had a tough time because I was injured, playing after a year. My father got discharged from ICU yesterday and he was in hospital for last 10 days and I did this for him, he must be watching.”

The LSG pacer credited the support staff for making him believe in his abilities despite the fact that he scored a lot of runs in the previous match.

“I am thankful to the team and the support staff, Gautam (Gambhir) sir, Vijay (Dahiya) sir for playing me this game even though I didn’t do well in the last game,” Mohsin added.
