In a video message, Bidhuna MLA’s daughter Riya Shakya has alleged that her father has been taken away by her uncle and grandmother. He has appealed to the UP government to trace his father.
She said, “I want to inform all respected people that I am Riya Shakya, daughter of MLA Vinay Shakya. My father had suffered a brain stroke on May 1, 2018. He was admitted to PGI Hospital, Lucknow. I want to thank the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Who constituted a high level panel of doctors to treat my father. During his stay in the hospital, he personally visited my father four to five times. ,
Riya said that her father cannot talk properly. “He has lost his ability to think and understand after a surgery. We are working for the BJP in the constituency and are constantly in touch with people as elections are approaching.
Making allegations against her family members, Riya said, “My uncle Devesh Shakya and my grandmother have taken my father to Lucknow. My father’s condition is not well at present. We don’t know where and in what condition he is. I demand the government to immediately find out his whereabouts and get him introduced to us.
According to reports, four MLAs close to Maurya, Roshan Lal Verma, Brijesh Prajapati, Bhagwati Sagar and Vinay Shakya announced their resignations on Tuesday. All of them are likely to join Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP).
Leading the exodus on Tuesday, Maurya tweeted his resignation. He said: “I have worked with dedication as the Minister of Labor, Employment and Coordination in spite of adversity and differing ideology. Due to the great neglect of Dalits, OBCs, farmers, unemployed youth and micro, small, I left the Yogi ministry. I resign. And middle class businessman.”

Maurya is considered a prominent face of OBC in UP. Before the 2017 UP assembly elections, Maurya had left the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and joined the BJP.
