Virat Kohli introduces Team India’s support staff after India’s win over Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram.

Earlier, Kohli played an inning of 166 runs in just 110 balls. The night was well and truly belonged to King Kohli, who ended a nearly three-year wait for an international hundred in the Asia Cup last year.

India defeated Sri Lanka by a massive margin of 317 runs in the third and final ODI at Thiruvananthapuram, which was also the biggest ever victory margin in 50-over cricket. Riding on the double centuries of Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, India put up a total of 390 runs on the board, and then with the help of Mohammed Siraj, bundled out Sri Lanka for 73 which meant they had a 3–0 clean sweep in ODIs.

Gill and Kohli had a conversation after the match. The duo also used the occasion to introduce the three ‘side arm support staff’ who have been instrumental in their success.

They were Raghu, Nuvan and Daya. While Raghu can be seen running around fast bowlers on live TV, Nuwan hails from Sri Lanka and specializes in throwdowns. Daya also gives throwdowns to Team India batsmen at the nets. It helps in facing fast bowlers in real time match situation.

“They have all been an integral part of our team and I will talk a little bit about them,” Kohli said on a video shared by BCCI.TV.

“He has given us world-class practice every day. And he challenges us in the same way that 150-plus fast bowlers score 140 runs in the nets. And they always try to get us out and make sure they are regular Test us with form.”

“Sometimes it seems too intense, but for me it has been the difference in my career. You guys have to remember their faces and their names because these guys put a lot of hard work behind our success.” Kohli said.

Earlier, Kohli played an inning of 166 runs in just 110 balls. The night well and truly belonged to King Kohli. The 34-year-old, who ended a nearly three-year wait for an international hundred in the Asia Cup last year, showed that he is back to his best.

Kohli is now only three short of equaling Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries. Kohli’s conversion ratio is remarkable as he completed his 46th century in 259 innings while Tendulkar took 452 innings to reach 49 centuries.

India scored 116 runs in the last 10 overs and Kohli scored a century. It was raining sixes off his bat after the milestone and MS Dhoni’s helicopter shot had an over-long shadow that brought a big smile to Kohli’s face. Most of his maximums came in the Cow Corner region.
