Mumbai student made mischievous call about terrorists at Hotel Taj

An official said that information by a class IX student that two terrorists would enter Hotel Taj in Mumbai, sparked a stir in the police on Saturday. The iconic hotel located in south Mumbai’s Colaba area was one of the targets of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. A police officer said that an anonymous call was received at the reception counter at around 3.30 pm claiming that two terrorists were on their way to enter the hotel.

After receiving information from the police, a team of Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs reached the building and security was beefed up, he said.

The call was finally traced to Karad in western Maharashtra’s Satara district and it was revealed that a boy studying in class IX had made it up as a prank, the official said, adding that no case has been registered so far. has gone.
