Mumbai school bus ‘missed’, parents panic as students reach home late

Parents of around 25-30 students using the bus service of a renowned Mumbai school were very worried on Monday as their children did not reach home on time on the first day of physical classes, leading to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are reaching the door of convenience and some are taking to social media. A police spokesman said the driver of the bus was new and so the children had to travel a long way to drop them home, wasting up to 30 minutes of time. He said that the school management has assured the parents that it will take action against the driver and the bus service contractor.

Mumbai BJP MLA Ashish Shelar tweeted that he has spoken to top police officials as well as the school trustee on the issue, adding that all the children have reached home safely. He said the driver’s phone was switched off, causing further confusion and anxiety among the parents.

In a statement, the school management said, “We are happy to confirm that all the students have been safely dropped off at their residences. We regret any inconvenience caused to our students and parents due to the delay in the transportation service experience today.” Is.
