Mumbai Rain Live: Mumbaikars have been asked to remain alert and safe as the financial capital is witnessing heavy rains, leading to severe water-logging in parts like Andheri and Matunga. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), other parts of Maharashtra such as Sangli, Ratnagiri and Palghar are also on alert. Three people were injured in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Mumbai for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, resulting in water-logging and traffic disruption at several places. The IMD has issued a “high alert” for Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra for today and tomorrow. It has issued a ‘Red Alert’ for South Konkan, Goa and South-central Maharashtra. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde yesterday chaired a meeting of officials, where he asked them to remain vigilant and take necessary steps to ensure that there is no loss of life during monsoon.
