NCB Mumbai Regional Director Sameer Wankhede arrived at the NCB office in New Delhi on Tuesday, 26 October.

Mumbai Police said on Tuesday that an investigation has been initiated against Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede and other officials to verify claims of alleged extortion. Wankhede is probing the Mumbai-drugs-on-cruise case, which also involved Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan.

The department said they have so far received four applications from Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede and other officials alleging extortion.

One of the applications was sent by NCB independent witness Prabhakar SAIL, who alleged that he heard KP Gosavi, another witness in the cruise ship raid case, talking to Sam D’Souza over phone about the demand of Rs 25 crore Was. 8 crores for Sameer Wankhede.

Earlier this month, a team led by Sameer Wankhede had raided a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai and claimed to have recovered drugs. The team has arrested Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and others in the case.

The cell has sent an application against the NCB officials to the Mumbai Police.

He said that all these applications have been marked to Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Marg police station and an officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police has started investigation.

However, the police refused to disclose the identity and contents of the applications filed against the NCB officials.

Another official said that the police will also investigate the claims of Prabhakar cell.

He said that the police team is checking the mobile phone numbers as well as CCTV footage of various places mentioned in the application of SAIL. He said that appropriate action would be taken after the investigation.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has also received two applications against cabinet minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik.

Malik has leveled several allegations against Sameer Wankhede, an IRS officer, and has also accused him of forging his documents to secure a job.
