According to the 2014 dog census, there were 95,174 dogs in Mumbai and 25,935 dogs were not sterilized. “Unsterilized dogs can give birth to at least four puppies a year. As a result, the number of stray dogs has increased. There may be around 2.96 lakh stray dogs in Mumbai now.
Kanal said that from January 2022, Yoda will support BMC’s mission of sterilizing free-roaming dogs and cats in Mumbai. All procedures will be followed in accordance with the updated Animal Birth Control Rules (2010).
“The existing vans have become obsolete and their life is over. The van will be shut down. Therefore, four new dog vans will be purchased.
